Engineer - Maintenance & Reliability

About the role

The Engineering Manager – Maintenance & Reliability will lead all engineering, maintenance and capital project activities within a food manufacturing plant. You will ensure machinery, equipment and infrastructure operate at peak efficiency while driving continuous improvement and compliance with food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and motivate engineering and maintenance teams.
• Plan, prioritize and manage preventive and reactive maintenance programmes.
• Oversee capital projects, including budgeting, planning and execution.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and food safety regulations.
• Collaborate with production, quality and supply‑chain teams to optimise plant performance.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, introducing new technologies and process enhancements.
• Manage contractor relationships and service agreements.
• Prepare departmental budgets and report on KPIs and performance.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering discipline (preferred).
• 8+ years of engineering leadership experience in food manufacturing or a similarly regulated environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing systems, utilities and automation.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
