Quality Assurance Executive

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Executive to join our Hatton facility. The role will support Cargills’ commitment to delivering safe, high‑quality food products by overseeing laboratory testing and production inspections.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep knowledge of quality assurance principles, laboratory test methods and industry standards.
• Execute chemical, physicochemical, organoleptic and microbiological testing according to the company’s quality plan.
• Lead inspection and evaluation of production processes to ensure compliance with quality, environmental and food‑safety requirements.
• Maintain laboratory inventory, equipment logs and reference samples.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to analyse consumer feedback and sensory data.
• Conduct competitive product analysis and support product improvement initiatives.
• Identify root causes of non‑conformances, design corrective actions and monitor their implementation.
• Coordinate with external laboratories for specialised testing.
• Drive sustainability projects to reduce waste in the laboratory and factory.
• Deliver training on quality assurance and food‑safety practices.
• Report any issues that may affect quality, safety or environmental compliance to management.
• Support the Integrated Management System and ensure adherence to SOPs and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to Sri Lanka’s development and community impact.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
