AI & IT Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

A proactive and technically skilled AI & IT Infrastructure Engineer is sought to join an IT team in Colombo, Sri Lanka, working in a hybrid arrangement. The role manages the organization's AI tools, platforms, licenses and subscriptions, supports enterprise IT infrastructure and network operations, and helps drive technology innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Administer enterprise AI platforms, subscriptions and licenses, and evaluate, onboard and support AI tools used across the organization
• Monitor AI tool usage, adoption, compliance and cost, and work with business and technical teams to find ways to use AI
• Provide technical guidance, user support and training on approved AI tools, and stay up to date on emerging AI technologies
• Support AI governance, security and compliance, and perform reporting, dashboards and license audits
• Manage the software licensing lifecycle, including procurement, renewal and compliance, and optimize software utilization
• Maintain records of software subscriptions, contracts and entitlements, and conduct periodic license audits
• Support servers, cloud platforms, networks and security solutions, assist with network administration, troubleshooting and performance optimization
• Support system upgrades, deployments, incident response, problem management and business continuity
• Identify efficiency improvements through automation and AI, contribute to IT strategy and roadmaps, and maintain technical documentation and standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Networking, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related IT field
• 2-3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, network administration or related IT operations roles
• Experience managing software licenses, subscriptions and vendor relationships
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and IT governance
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with AI platforms such as Clause AI, Cursor AI, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or similar enterprise AI solutions
• Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking and cloud technologies
• Preferred: Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform, automation tools and scripting, ITIL processes, and professional certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, Azure, AWS, ITIL or AI-related ones
