Senior AI Engineer / Senior Data Scientist

About the role

EY GDS, its Data and Analytics practice, is looking for a Senior Data Scientist with at least 3 to 7 years of experience in data science and machine learning. The role focuses on designing and implementing AI solutions, especially those based on generative AI and large language models, and brings together technical work with stakeholder collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement state-of-the-art AI solutions and assist in building AI models and systems using LLMs and generative AI.
• Work with stakeholders to identify business opportunities and define AI project goals, then tailor solutions to their needs.
• Use Azure OpenAI GPT models and Hugging Face Transformers, and integrate with relevant APIs and libraries.
• Build and optimize end-to-end pipelines, using vector databases such as Redis and NoSQL databases, and similarity search techniques.
• Research and evaluate techniques such as transfer learning, domain adaptation and model compression, and set evaluation metrics for AI outputs.
• Curate, clean and preprocess large datasets, and ensure data privacy, security and ethical standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; a Ph.D. is a plus.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in data science and machine learning.
• Deep knowledge of machine learning, deep learning and generative AI, and familiarity with computer vision.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP, and strong collaboration with software engineering and operations teams.

Required skills

• Python, R, TensorFlow or PyTorch; NLP frameworks such as BERT, GPT or Transformer models.
• Data engineering: data curation, cleaning and preprocessing.
• Trusted AI practices, including fairness, transparency and accountability.
• Nice to have: MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Terraform or CloudFormation, and optimization tools such as Mixed Integer Programming.
