About the role
Toll Group's Global Forwarding business delivers cargo across its global network by road, rail, sea and air, and is looking for a Sea Freight Manager in Colombo. The role covers customer service, overseeing sea freight operations, negotiating with shipping companies and leading a sea freight team.
Key responsibilities
- Handle customer issues and complaints related to sea freight and visit customers
- Oversee sea freight operations: plan, organise and direct goods moved by sea transport
- Negotiate contracts and rates with shipping companies to secure favourable terms
- Lead the sea freight team and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards
- Monitor carrier performance and recommend actions for compliance failures
- Provide training and guidance to colleagues on air freight operations
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding
- Must be entitled to work in Sri Lanka
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment checks, including a criminal history check and medical
