Junior Executive - Cargo Operations

About the role

EF L Global is hiring a Junior Executive for its Shared Services department in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The role covers end-to-end shipment processing, documentation, regulatory filings, destination coordination and job costing, working on a roster basis.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review and process shipment pre-alerts from origin agents, coordinating with destination teams
• Create and manage job orders in CargoWise according to client SOPs, ensuring accurate HBL and MBL data entry
• Maintain shipment records and upload shipping documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists and arrival notices to CargoWise
• Assist with regulatory filings including ACI, AMI, eManifest and ISF
• Coordinate destination operations, including customs clearance, demurrage and detention monitoring, and final-mile delivery
• Manage job costing and financial closure, including vendor costs, accruals, client invoicing and job profitability checks
• Record and bill chargeable accessorial costs such as storage and waiting time
• Liaise with overseas agents, customers and internal teams, reconcile vendor invoices against job estimates and help resolve billing disputes
• Support month-end closing and provide CargoWise support and troubleshooting to internal teams and clients

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or partial qualifications in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Willingness to work on a roster basis, including day shifts, night shifts and weekends

Required skills

• Experience with CargoWise is an added advantage
