Aviation Safety Supervisor

About the role

SriLankan is hiring an Aviation Safety Supervisor in Katunayake to implement, maintain and continuously improve the Safety Management System (SMS) in line with the SMS Manuals. The role is full-time and offers employment on a fixed-term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Handle all voluntary and mandatory safety reports, ensuring they follow the process for hazard identification, risk assessment, risk mitigation and verification of corrective actions.
• Monitor the Safety Database (AQD) so that safety reports from all disciplines are recorded, addressed and closed on time, and inform the Aviation & Cabin Safety Manager of long-pending reports.
• Prepare and share safety information with all employees as part of the Safety Accident Prevention Programme, strengthening safety knowledge and situational awareness.
• Assist in planning, coordinating and running safety audits and inspections, and in preparing for internal OQ audits and external audits such as CAASL, IOSA, ISAGO, EASA and others.
• Coordinate Safety Review Board, SAG Heads' and Safety Action Group meetings in line with the SMS Manual.
• Review and update the SMS Manual as required under CAASL and IATA requirements.
• Help develop Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs), keep the SPI database current and track mitigation actions for breached SPIs.
• Prepare analytical overviews of safety reports, investigations and other safety data for the Aviation & Cabin Safety Manager to present at SRB and SAG Heads' meetings.
• Assist in maintaining the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) programme with the A&CSM and OHS Manager.

Required profile

• 6 passes at GCE O/L with 4 credits in one sitting, a credit in English, and either 4 years of work experience or a full or part professional qualification with 3 years of experience.
• Upper age limit of 30 years as of 01 November 2026.
• Sri Lankan citizen.
