Procurement Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an organized and proactive Procurement Assistant to support the purchasing needs of Sumathi Holdings and its subsidiaries. This role provides valuable exposure to supplier coordination, price negotiations, and procurement operations across a diversified group of companies.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure goods and services according to approved specifications.
• Obtain quotations, prepare price comparison statements, and negotiate favorable terms.
• Prepare purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate procurement requirements for internal departments, including the Transport Department.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier details, invoices, and supporting documents.
• Support supplier evaluations and develop reliable vendor relationships.
• Manage disposal of obsolete and unserviceable assets across the group.

Required profile

• Diploma, degree or professional qualification in Logistics, Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with relevant academic or internship exposure are welcome.
• Strong communication, negotiation, coordination and follow‑up abilities.
• Attention to detail, integrity and a positive attitude.

Required skills

• Practical experience with ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
