GSE Mechanic (Electrical)

About the role

SriLankan is hiring a GSE (Ground Support Equipment) Electrical Mechanic in Katunayake. The role involves assisting in diagnosing defects and carrying out repair and maintenance of electrical equipment under supervision. Employment is offered on a fixed-term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Install electrical components, electrically operated accessories and electrically controlled systems, including PLC systems, so that equipment functions properly under supervision.
• Help identify electrical faults in GSE and repair or replace them to maintain serviceability levels under supervision.
• Support preventive maintenance and performance checks, including testing, dismantling, re-assembly and final testing.
• Maintain good housekeeping and work safely to avoid damaging equipment, tools, components and engines.
• Check and verify the serviceability of vehicles and GSE through test drives, adjusting controls and systems so equipment can be released on time.
• Attend to emergency repairs during night shifts, including spare wheel replacements.

Required profile

• 6 passes at GCE O/L with 4 credits, including English, plus either a full trade qualification in Electrical lasting more than 3 years, or an NVQ Level 4 in Electrical lasting more than 3 years.
• A light/heavy vehicle driving licence.
• Upper age limit of 30 years as of 06 November 2026, the closing date.
• Sri Lankan citizen.
