Assistant Manager – Technical Sales (Waterproofing)

About the role

Megakem Engineering, Sri Lanka’s leading manufacturer and applicator of construction chemicals and coatings, is looking for an Assistant Manager to lead its technical sales for waterproofing solutions. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth across retail and showroom channels while building strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve monthly and annual individual sales targets aligned with company objectives.
• Oversee retail and showroom sales operations to ensure consistent revenue growth.
• Develop and implement business development strategies to expand the retail customer base and improve showroom performance.
• Manage, guide, and motivate the sales team to enhance productivity and customer service standards.
• Strengthen relationships with key customers, applicators, contractors, and channel partners.
• Identify new market opportunities, product placements, and promotional initiatives to increase market penetration.
• Monitor sales performance, prepare regular reports, and provide insights to management.
• Coordinate with technical, marketing, and operations teams to support sales initiatives and customer requirements.
• Ensure effective showroom presentation, product visibility, and adherence to brand standards.

Required profile

• Recognized Diploma or Certificate in Sales & Marketing or Civil Engineering; a Bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
• Minimum 5–6 years of relevant experience in business development or sales, preferably within construction chemicals and waterproofing solutions.
• Proven experience managing retail and showroom sales operations.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Results‑oriented, able to work independently and under pressure.
