Operations Analyst - Freight Forwarding & Logistics

About the role

EFL Global is hiring a full-time Operations Analyst in Colombo, Sri Lanka, within its Operations department. The role covers freight forwarding and logistics operations, including process analysis, business requirement gathering, application support and data analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Map and analyse freight forwarding and logistics operational processes
• Gather, document and clarify business requirements from end users and stakeholders
• Investigate system issues, find root causes and propose corrective actions
• Prepare test scenarios, run UAT, document defects and validate solutions
• Write business, functional and bug specification documents for development teams
• Analyse operational data with Microsoft Excel and identify trends and exceptions
• Support business applications such as CargoWise, including configuration validation and user support
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support workflow, automation and digital transformation initiatives
• Communicate with global users, management and technical teams
• Manage multiple incidents, enhancement requests and project tasks within agreed SLAs and deadlines

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, MIS, Business Analytics or a related field
• Basic understanding of freight forwarding, customs, transportation, warehousing or logistics processes
• Ability to gather and document requirements, incidents and functional specifications under guidance
• Experience with UAT, functional testing, requirement validation and defect documentation
• Interest in process improvement, automation and digital transformation
• Ability to handle multiple tickets, meet deadlines and provide good customer service

Required skills

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills; advanced Excel, Power BI and Visio are preferred
• Experience supporting ERP, TMS, WMS, CargoWise or similar applications is an advantage; proficiency in CargoWise One is preferred
• SharePoint experience is preferred
