Mechanical Customer Buyer (m/f/d)

About the role

As a Mechanical Customer Buyer you will be responsible for sourcing, costing and managing mechanical components for our customers' programs. You will work closely with engineering, production and procurement teams to ensure the right parts are delivered on time and at the best price.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate material costs, select suppliers and design optimal supply chains for assigned mechanical programs.
• Deliver benchmark costs, drive cost‑reduction initiatives and manage cost development through negotiations and alternative sourcing.
• Advise customers on supply‑chain strategies, manage after‑sales support and ensure optimal pricing and material selection.
• Select and negotiate with preferred mechanical suppliers, expand the supplier network and coordinate new supplier qualifications.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to guarantee components meet design specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain SAP master data for mechanical parts, including pricing, packaging and lead times.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Procurement or equivalent.
• 3‑4 years of procurement experience in mechanical or industrial manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of mechanical components, assemblies and supplier markets.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Proven analytical, negotiation and project‑management abilities.
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
