Customer Buyer – Mechanical (m/f/d)

About the role

Variosystems AG is looking for a Mechanical Customer Buyer to manage sourcing, cost control and supplier relationships for mechanical components across customer programs.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate material costs, select suppliers and design optimal supply chains for mechanical parts.
• Deliver benchmark costs, drive cost‑reduction initiatives and manage cost development through negotiations and alternative sourcing.
• Advise customers on supply‑chain strategies, manage after‑sales for mechanical components and ensure best pricing.
• Select and negotiate with preferred suppliers, expand the supplier network and coordinate new supplier qualifications.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to ensure components meet design specifications and delivery schedules.
• Maintain SAP master data for mechanical components and reassign when criticality decreases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Procurement or equivalent.
• 3‑4 years of procurement experience in mechanical or industrial manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of mechanical components, assemblies and supplier markets.
• Excellent English communication, analytical and negotiation skills.
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
