Head of Audit & Compliance – Hospitality

About the role

The client seeks an experienced Head of Audit & Compliance to lead the internal audit function within a hotel organization. This senior position provides independent assurance on governance, risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance, supporting the Board and senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual risk‑based internal audit plan covering all business functions.
• Conduct audits in line with professional standards and organizational policies, reviewing findings and recommendations.
• Monitor implementation of corrective actions and report progress to senior leadership.
• Evaluate internal control systems, assess risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and internal policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors, regulators, and other assurance providers as needed.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the internal audit team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Prepare and present audit reports, risk assessments, and recommendations to the Audit Committee and executive management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Business Administration or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CIA, CA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in auditing, risk management, compliance or related areas.
• At least 5 years in a senior audit leadership or management role.
• Master’s degree (MBA, Finance, Accounting) is an advantage.
