Electronics Repair Technician – Test Field

About the role

Variosystems is looking for a motivated Electronics Repair Technician to join its Test Field Department. You will support test production and electronic fault diagnosis, ensuring smooth operation of PCB assemblies and test equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform testing operations using advanced testing machines and equipment.
• Diagnose faults and repair components on printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) to component level.
• Interpret electronic circuit diagrams and apply soldering and desoldering techniques.
• Conduct fine‑pitch hot‑air soldering on multi‑layered boards and miniature surface‑mount components.
• Utilise test and measurement tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and power supplies for fault analysis.
• Assist with component selection and ordering when required.
• Maintain an ESD‑safe work environment and work on a shift basis as needed.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 or 4 (or equivalent) in Electronics or Mechatronics.
• Strong practical knowledge of electronic systems, circuit analysis and fault diagnosis.
• Hands‑on experience in soldering, rework and repair of PCB assemblies.
• Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and power supplies.
• Excellent critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Team player capable of working independently.
• Prior experience in electronics manufacturing or repair is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, email and internet applications.
• Age between 20–35 years is desirable.
