Associate Manager, Financial Control (12 months)

About the role

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is hiring an Associate Manager, Financial Control (FTC) for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Colombo. The role prepares, develops and analyses financial information so that senior management can make informed decisions, supporting the whole organisation across its business divisions. It is a dedicated, one-year engagement focused on core accounting skills, with the aim of meeting Key Performance Indicators.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review month-end close processes to ensure accuracy of the P&L and Balance Sheet and adherence to Group reporting deadlines.
• On-board additional scope and align the process according to the Terms of Engagement (TOM).
• Ensure the team meets tight reporting deadlines while maintaining high accuracy and quality.
• Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and substantiations.
• Support the external audit process for in-scope companies, liaising with external auditors on their questions and requests.
• Adhere to internal controls as per Group policies and the financial control framework.
• Support Group projects and the implementation of new systems and processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and partner with Entity Accountants, Financial Controllers, Group Reporting and Statutory Reporting teams.

Required profile

• Professional accounting degree with at least 4 years of experience in General Accounting.
• Strong track record in core accounting transactions and consolidations, with accurate general ledger balances.
• Background in a finance shared services environment is an added advantage.
• Ability to work according to UK work hours.

Required skills

• Financial control processes, including account reconciliations and substantiations.
• Production of reporting packs and schedules representing financial performance.
• Hands-on experience in SAP, Oracle, Oracle Fusion and Blackline is an added advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent oral and written English and strong communication skills.
