Security Manager – Colombo, Sri Lanka

About the role

The Security Manager will lead Daraz’s physical and operational security strategy across its Colombo operations, ensuring alignment with Alibaba International’s global standards and local regulations. This senior position requires a proactive leader who can protect assets, manage incidents, and embed a strong security culture throughout the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the overall physical and operational security strategy for Daraz in Colombo.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve security policies, procedures, and protocols covering asset protection, access control, incident response, crisis management, and business continuity.
• Lead investigations into security incidents such as theft, fraud, workplace violence, or cyber‑physical breaches and coordinate with law enforcement and internal compliance teams.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits across facilities, warehouses, offices, and logistics hubs, identifying vulnerabilities and enforcing corrective actions.
• Manage relationships with third‑party security vendors, monitor service performance, and ensure cost‑effective deployment of security personnel and technology (e.g., CCTV, intrusion detection, access systems).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in corporate or retail security management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within e‑commerce, logistics, or multinational environments.
• Strong understanding of Sri Lankan security‑related laws, data privacy, and labor compliance; fluency in English required.
• Proven ability to lead under pressure, influence stakeholders, and drive a security‑first culture.
