Researcher - Community and Stakeholder Engagement Officer

About the role

Landscape Alliance is hiring a Researcher - Community and Stakeholder Engagement Officer in Matale, Sri Lanka, on a local position. The role supports research activities such as data collection and analysis at provincial and district levels, and liaises with local and national stakeholders including governments, NGOs and community representatives. It also covers supporting students and interns, building stakeholder capacity, and contributing to project reporting and monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Support research activities, including data collection and analysis at provincial and district levels, and help develop tools, manuals and guidelines.
• Develop monthly and annual work plans, including a stakeholder engagement plan, in consultation with the ICRAF project management and scientists.
• Liaise with local and national stakeholders to coordinate project implementation, and deploy community engagement methods with stakeholders.
• Help project team leaders deliver high-quality outputs on time, and document, communicate and advocate progress in Green Value Chains, Payment for Ecosystem Services, Sustainable Landscape Management and Capacity Development.
• Support students and interns, and help strengthen partner capacity through training, workshops and events.
• Help set up stakeholder platforms and green value chain networks, examine benefit sharing and promote sustainable landscape management.
• Represent the organization with public, private and smallholder farmers, and take part in local and national discussions.
• Contribute to project reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and to adaptive management reviews.
• Maintain records of stakeholder engagement and provide monthly summaries and annual donor reports.
