Manager - Environment, Health & Safety

About the role

Lead the occupational hygiene program at the Mt. Lavinia site, reducing ergonomics, noise, heat and chemical risks. Work closely with senior managers to embed hygiene considerations into engineering projects, new product introductions and product transfers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage occupational hygiene aspects of the site master plan, engineering projects and major capital spends.
• Conduct ergonomic and chemical risk assessments, and perform hygiene surveys for noise and chemical agents.
• Recommend and support implementation of controls, training, PPE selection and workstation design.
• Set exposure control targets, track progress and report to senior EHS leadership.
• Coordinate regional best‑practice sharing and align projects with Haleon’s EHS framework.

Required profile

• Graduate in Science or Engineering, preferably with a PG diploma in Occupational Safety/Hygiene.
• Recognised Occupational Hygienist or health & safety professional.
• Minimum 2‑3 years experience in pharmaceutical or consumer‑healthcare manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to develop and lead occupational hygiene programs.

Required skills

• Occupational hygiene assessments (ergonomics, noise, chemical exposure).
• Environmental sustainability knowledge (air emissions, water stewardship, waste management).
• Experience with EHS regulatory compliance and QMS.
• Ability to conduct training and advise on work practices and PPE.
