Internship – Disaster Preparedness Support

About the role

The internship supports the Disaster Management Centre’s Disaster Preparedness Division, providing day‑to‑day operational and coordination assistance under the supervision of UNDP project staff. It offers exposure to climate and environment initiatives and disaster risk reduction activities in Sri Lanka.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and maintain data for ongoing and upcoming programmes.
• Assist with daily administrative tasks such as scheduling, meeting organisation, record keeping and documentation support.
• Contribute to work‑plan development, timeline updates and related documentation.
• Coordinate workshops, meetings and events, handling logistics and communication with participants.
• Develop knowledge products including reports, presentations, briefing materials and draft proposals.
• Engage with team members and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Monitor project progress, collect feedback and provide updates for evaluation and reporting.
• Support the communication team in preparing newsletter and social‑media content.
