Hotel Hostess

About the role

Marriott Hotels & Resorts is hiring a hostess to welcome guests and manage seating in its dining rooms. The role covers greeting guests, arranging tables and place settings, keeping the dining area clean and safe, and following company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, find out the size of their party and seat them at a clean, available table, pulling out chairs and placing a clean, current menu.
• Guide guests through the dining rooms and help guests with special needs.
• Move and arrange tables, chairs and settings, and organise seating for groups.
• Check that place settings are correct and that every guest has a napkin, clean silverware and other standard items.
• Keep menus current, clean and plentiful, and keep work areas clean throughout the day.
• Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety and guest well-being.
• Follow company and safety policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions to the manager, complete safety training, and keep a professional appearance and confidentiality.
• Answer phones with good etiquette, speak clearly and professionally, and build positive working relationships with colleagues.
• Stand, sit or walk for long periods and lift objects up to 10 pounds without assistance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No related work experience or supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification required.
