Consultant – Community Engagement and Communication for Inclusive Youth TVET

About the role

The consultancy supports the STRIVE project in Sri Lanka’s Northern and Eastern provinces, providing strategic oversight and technical assistance to community engagement partners for gender‑responsive social marketing campaigns that promote inclusive youth participation in TVET.

Key responsibilities

• Provide continuous technical assistance to partners in designing and implementing evidence‑based, gender‑responsive social marketing campaigns.
• Translate research findings into localized campaign activities that challenge harmful social norms and entry barriers.
• Support partners in monitoring campaign reach, adapting approaches based on emerging evidence, and documenting lessons for replication.
• Facilitate co‑design of campaign strategies, messages, and communication channels, ensuring inclusion of gender equality, disability, and environmental sustainability considerations.

Required profile

• Experience in community engagement, social marketing, or communications within development contexts.
• Understanding of gender equality, social inclusion, and TVET ecosystems.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders including NGOs, youth champions, TVET providers, and private sector partners.

Required skills

• Technical coaching and facilitation skills for campaign implementation.
• Analytical skills to interpret research and translate findings into actionable campaign components.
