Chief Human Resources Officer

About the role

Our client, a leading private hospital in Colombo, is seeking a Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to provide strategic leadership for the organisation’s people agenda. The CHRO will align human capital strategy with business objectives, drive HR transformation and build a high‑performing, engaged workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall HR strategy in line with business growth, acting as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
• Lead HR transformation initiatives, establishing modern policies, frameworks and governance standards.
• Design talent management, succession planning and leadership development programmes to create a strong internal pipeline.
• Oversee performance management systems, employee engagement, culture and retention initiatives.
• Direct talent acquisition and employer branding efforts, building effective pipelines for critical roles.
• Manage compensation and benefits strategies to ensure competitiveness and internal equity while ensuring compliance with employment legislation.
• Partner with Finance on workforce costs, budgets and productivity, and drive HR digitalisation and technology adoption.

Required profile

• Extensive senior HR leadership experience, preferably in a large healthcare or similar complex organisation.
• Proven ability to act as a strategic advisor to C‑level executives and influence organisational culture.
• Track record of delivering HR transformation, talent management and succession planning initiatives.
