Assistant Manager - Shift Operations

About the role

Avery Dennison is looking for an Assistant Manager - Shift Operations in Biyagama. You will be overall in charge of the shift and responsible for all production plants, working closely with each plant so that production runs smoothly according to plan while meeting quality, compliance and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor production operations in all plants and drive shift teams to achieve shift production targets
• Manage people and resolve priority requirements to meet customer delivery commitments
• Coordinate with divisional heads on priorities and focus areas, and with maintenance and quality departments to keep production running smoothly
• Ensure safety, health and environmental compliance is followed by shift teams
• Allocate resources in each plant to meet delivery commitments and achieve planned outputs consistently
• Ensure quality systems, compliance requirements and SOPs are followed, taking corrective and preventive action when needed
• Identify issues, suggest improvements to reduce rejects and waste, and engage with shop floor teams to motivate and guide them toward higher performance

Required profile

• Degree in Production, Manufacturing Engineering, NDT or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing or operations
• Demonstrated success in people management to drive performance

• Sound knowledge of quality and productivity improvement tools and techniques
