Senior Accountant

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, monthly financial statements, and MIS reports for the tourism sector.
• Reconcile tour bookings, handle multi‑currency transactions, and manage accounts receivable/payable for foreign agents and local suppliers.
• Coordinate supplier reconciliations with hotels, transport providers, and overseas tour operators to verify invoices and process payments.
• Manage statutory tax compliance including VAT, SSCL, and Tourism Development Levy (TDL) submissions.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors to support year‑end closures and ensure financial compliance.

Required profile

• Fully or partly qualified with a recognised professional accounting body (CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA) or a degree in Finance/Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years progressive accounting experience, at least 2 years in the travel & tourism industry.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally or ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and overall MS Office competence.
