Quality Assurance Lead – Playwright / Cypress

About the role

Gapstars Tech is looking for a Quality Assurance Lead to own end‑to‑end test automation for a modern B2B SaaS platform built with TypeScript, NestJS, React and PostgreSQL. You will work closely with developers and product owners, using a Spec‑Driven Development approach to ensure high‑quality releases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and maintain Playwright and Cypress end‑to‑end tests integrated into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Design and evolve the test automation framework and test‑data strategy for the new technology stack.
• Build API and contract tests from formal OpenAPI specifications.
• Leverage AI tools to generate test cases, improve coverage and perform risk analysis.
• Communicate test results and quality risks through clear reports for technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Monitor automated test executions, troubleshoot failures, reduce flaky tests and ensure reliable outcomes.
• Convert production incidents and reported defects into automated regression tests.
• Review functional specifications before development to guarantee completeness and testability.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in test automation or quality engineering, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript with the ability to write, debug and review automated scripts.
• Hands‑on experience with Playwright or Cypress.
• Proven track record of designing and building a test automation framework from scratch.
• Practical experience or strong interest in using AI‑driven testing tools.
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates.
