Paper Bag Machine Operator – Manufacturing

About the role

The Paper Bag Machine Operator will work full‑time on the shop floor of Smart Pack Industries in Kandy. You will be responsible for setting up, running and monitoring the paper‑bag production line, ensuring that output meets the company’s quality and efficiency standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and load raw materials into the paper bag machine.
• Adjust machine settings to match product specifications.
• Monitor production flow and intervene to minimise downtime.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs using hand tools.
• Inspect finished bags for defects and enforce quality‑control procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety protocols.
• Communicate production issues and improvement ideas to supervisors.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating industrial machinery, preferably in packaging or paper products.
• Familiarity with quality‑control inspection methods.
• Ability to use hand tools safely for adjustments and minor repairs.
• Good physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Basic vocational training or equivalent experience in machine operation.
