Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d)

About the role

Starting from concept, you will design and develop mechanical components, sub‑assemblies and complete box builds. You will translate product requirements into practical, reliable and manufacturable designs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies and engineering drawings.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, mechanical engineering analysis and simulations.
• Work with suppliers to ensure cost‑effective, reliable designs.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, DFMEA, prototyping and verification.
• Support prototype builds, product testing, design iterations and production introduction.
• Identify and resolve mechanical design issues during prototyping, testing and manufacturing.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation.
• Collaborate closely with electrical, manufacturing, quality and other engineering disciplines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 + years of relevant industry experience in product design.
• Proven experience with DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, functional dimensioning and geometric tolerancing.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software and engineering drawing preparation.
• Experience through the full product development cycle from concept to production.

• Thermal engineering principles.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality standards.
