Industrial Maintenance Technician

About the role

Our client, a leading global manufacturing organisation, is seeking a skilled and safety‑conscious Technician to support its factory maintenance operations in Horana. The role involves fitting, fabrication, installation, repair and welding of mechanical equipment to ensure smooth production.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical fitting, fabrication and machinery repair work.
• Install, dismantle and assemble industrial machinery and equipment.
• Repair and maintain pumps, valves and steam‑related equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and machinery manuals.
• Maintain mechanical tools and equipment in good condition.
• Perform welding operations including Arc, TIG, Oxy‑Acetylene and plasma cutting.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Follow all required safety procedures and promote safe working practices.

Required profile

• Full‑time NAB, CGTTI, ATI, NCT qualification or equivalent technical qualification.
• NVQ Level 4 in a relevant technical discipline.
• Minimum three years of industrial experience.
• Practical experience in mechanical fitting, fabrication, welding and machinery maintenance.
• Ability to understand technical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Willingness to work in a factory environment and respond to maintenance requirements.
• Knowledge of electrical applications within a manufacturing environment is an advantage.
