Financial Analyst (CIMA Qualified)

About the role

Abans PLC is seeking a CIMA‑qualified Financial Analyst to join its finance team. The role will involve analysing profit & loss, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements, turning data into actionable business insights and supporting investment decisions across the company’s diverse consumer‑durables portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and other financial statements, identify trends, variances and risks, and translate numbers into clear business insights.
• Conduct financial, investment and feasibility analysis for new projects, including ROI, NPV, IRR, payback, break‑even and sensitivity analysis.
• Develop financial models, forecasts, budgets and scenario analyses to evaluate profitability, cash flows, costs, risks and expected returns.
• Monitor financial and operational performance, identify opportunities for profitability and cost improvement, and investigate significant deviations.
• Prepare concise reports with key findings and recommendations to support management decision‑making.
• Collaborate with relevant departments to obtain required financial and operational information and perform ad‑hoc financial and commercial analysis.

Required profile

• CIMA qualification – mandatory.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related field (advantageous).
• Experience in financial analysis, FP&A, investment analysis, business analysis or management accounting.
• Strong knowledge of financial statements, financial modelling, forecasting and investment appraisal.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical, numerical and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Ability to interpret financial data, understand business implications and provide clear, data‑driven recommendations.
