Executive – Quality Assurance

About the role

Cargills is seeking an Executive – Quality Assurance to lead and enhance quality, safety, and environmental standards across its production facilities. The role combines scientific laboratory expertise with operational oversight to ensure products meet rigorous industry and regulatory benchmarks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep knowledge of quality assurance processes, laboratory testing methods, and current industry standards.
• Execute comprehensive chemical, physicochemical, organoleptic, and microbiological testing in line with the company’s quality plan.
• Lead inspections of production operations to verify compliance with quality, food safety, and environmental requirements.
• Maintain laboratory systems, including equipment, chemicals, glassware, and reference samples.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to analyse consumer feedback and sensory data, driving product improvements.
• Conduct competitive analysis to support product innovation.
• Identify root causes of non‑conformances, design corrective actions, and oversee implementation.
• Coordinate with external laboratories for specialised testing.
• Promote hygienic practices and sustainability initiatives to reduce waste.
• Facilitate staff training on quality assurance and food safety.
• Communicate proactively with management on quality, safety, or environmental concerns.

Required profile

• Passionate about contributing positively to Sri Lanka.
• Bachelor’s degree (field not specified).
