Maintenance Manager

About the role

Michelin is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead a team responsible for equipment availability and reliability within the assigned sector. The role focuses on optimizing maintenance costs, energy consumption, and supporting production goals related to safety, quality, productivity, and delivery performance.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and continuously improve maintenance strategies based on equipment criticality and risk prevention plans.
• Develop, execute, and monitor maintenance plans that include process influent parameters and contribute to process control.
• Analyze maintenance results to optimize intervention effectiveness and drive short‑ and medium‑term continuous improvement.
• Control maintenance costs by improving operational efficiency, energy use, and spare‑parts consumption.
• Ensure equipment durability, manage obsolescence cases, and maintain cleanliness and orderliness standards.
• Adapt resources through competency assessments, training, and succession planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• 4‑5 years of experience in mechanical or mechatronics engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills in English and Sinhala, with proven stakeholder management abilities.
• Customer‑focused mindset, teamwork, leadership, and problem‑solving capabilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Experience with CMMS systems (SAP PM preferred).
• Knowledge of condition‑based maintenance techniques such as thermography, vibration analysis, and ultrasound.
• Predictive maintenance and world‑class lubrication management practices.
• Application of reliability engineering tools (RCA, FMEA, Pareto Analysis) to improve MTBF and MTTR.
