Executive – Quality Assurance

About the role

We are looking for an Executive – Quality Assurance to join our Mirigama facility. The role will support Cargills’ commitment to product excellence, food safety and sustainable operations across our diverse portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep knowledge of quality assurance processes, laboratory testing methods and industry standards.
• Execute chemical, physicochemical, organoleptic and microbiological tests according to the company’s quality plan.
• Inspect production operations to ensure compliance with quality, environmental and food‑safety requirements.
• Maintain laboratory inventory, equipment logs and reference samples.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to analyse consumer feedback and sensory data.
• Conduct competitive product analysis and support innovation initiatives.
• Identify root causes of non‑conformances, design corrective actions and oversee their implementation.
• Coordinate with external laboratories for specialised testing.
• Lead sustainability projects to reduce waste in the lab and factory.
• Deliver training on quality assurance and food‑safety practices.
• Monitor and improve the Integrated Management System and related SOPs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (field not specified).
• Strong commitment to Sri Lanka’s development and community impact.
