Executive Chef – Luxury Beach Resort

About the role

The Executive Chef will lead all culinary operations at Amanwella, a contemporary beach resort on Sri Lanka’s south coast. Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences through high‑quality, innovative cuisine while maintaining rigorous hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and manage all kitchen activities, ensuring consistency, presentation, and food quality.
• Collaborate with Food & Beverage, Stewarding, Engineering and other departments to guarantee seamless service.
• Conduct daily briefings, monitor operational changes, and oversee preventive maintenance of kitchen equipment.
• Drive continuous improvement through quality management initiatives and stay abreast of culinary trends.
• Recruit, train, coach and retain a high‑performing culinary team, fostering a culture of teamwork and learning.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets, monitor food costs, and participate in monthly P&L reviews.
• Maintain accurate inventory control, stock management and purchasing practices.

Required profile

• Proven senior culinary leadership experience, preferably in luxury resort or hotel environments.
• Strong commitment to food safety, hygiene standards and guest satisfaction.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate across multiple departments.
• Ability to manage budgets, control costs and drive profitability.
