About the role
The Assistant/Deputy General Manager – Engineering will oversee the engineering operations of a hotel, ensuring maintenance standards, safety compliance and efficient energy use. This senior position requires strong leadership, technical oversight and coordination with hotel engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and assist hotel engineers in daily maintenance activities.
- Inspect cleanliness of machinery, equipment, plant rooms and civil structures.
- Review preventive maintenance systems and recommend improvements per MQS manual.
- Evaluate annual repair & maintenance and energy budgets, providing improvement recommendations.
- Assess health and safety standards, ensure necessary test reports and licenses are available, and suggest corrective actions.
Required profile
- Degree in Engineering from a recognized institute.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar engineering role, preferably within the hospitality sector.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, attention to detail, and good command of English.
- Presentation and report writing skills.
