Assistant Manager – Technical Sales (Waterproofing)

About the role

Megakem Engineering, Sri Lanka’s leading manufacturer and applicator of construction chemicals and coatings, is seeking an Assistant Manager – Technical Sales (Waterproofing) to drive retail and showroom sales, achieve targets and expand the customer base. The role involves overseeing sales operations, managing a team, and coordinating with technical, marketing and operations functions.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve assigned monthly and annual individual sales targets in line with company objectives.
• Oversee and drive retail and showroom sales operations to ensure consistent revenue growth.
• Develop and implement business development strategies to expand the retail customer base and showroom performance.
• Manage, guide, and motivate the retail and showroom sales team to enhance productivity and customer service standards.
• Strengthen relationships with key customers, applicators, contractors, and channel partners.
• Identify new market opportunities, product placements, and promotional initiatives to increase market penetration.
• Monitor sales performance, prepare regular sales reports, and provide insights and recommendations to management.
• Coordinate with technical, marketing, and operations teams to support sales initiatives and customer requirements.
• Ensure effective showroom presentation, product visibility, and adherence to brand standards.

Required profile

• Recognized Diploma or Certificate‑level qualification, preferably in Sales and Marketing or Civil Engineering (a Bachelor’s degree is an advantage).
• Minimum of 5–6 years of relevant experience in business development or sales, preferably within construction chemicals and waterproofing solutions.
• Proven experience in managing retail and showroom sales operations.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Results‑oriented with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
