Assistant Manager - Tax Services

About the role

PwC is hiring an Assistant Manager in its Tax Services line in Colombo. The role advises clients on local and overseas tax affairs and acts as a strategic consultant on business analysis, indirect taxes, dispute resolution and global enterprise tax solutions. It sits within the PwC Professional leadership development framework.

Key responsibilities

• Help clients meet and manage their tax obligations, identify and reduce tax risks and implement tax strategies aligned with business goals
• Advise on direct and indirect tax compliance, payments, appeals and objections, and follow up with the Inland Revenue Department
• Prepare and/or approve tax computations and returns for clients
• Take part in due diligence and structuring engagements for private equity and strategic corporate transactions
• Manage multiple client relationships, prepare reports and presentations and contribute to client meetings
• Identify business growth opportunities and take part in internal and external training to become a subject matter expert in tax laws and regulations

Required profile

• Associate Member or passed finalist of CIMA, ACCA or CA Sri Lanka
• 2 years of post-qualifying experience in taxation
• Experience in tax due diligence, including cross-border transactions
• Sound report writing skills and strong grasp of business and technical issues and industry trends
• Ability to handle multiple assignments independently; professional services experience is an added advantage
• Dedicated team player with excellent leadership qualities
