Sponsorship Coordinator

About the role

World Vision is looking for a Sponsorship Coordinator in Walapane, Sri Lanka, to support its Child Sponsorship operations within the Area Development Programme (ADP). The post is a local fixed-term position and acts as the key link between sponsors, sponsored children and their communities, making sure sponsorship is a meaningful, transformative relationship. The coordinator works with the ADP team, community volunteers and partners to integrate sponsorship principles into all programme activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan sponsorship education and give technical input on sponsorship messaging and transition awareness.
• Promote the involvement and engagement of community members and partners.
• Coordinate the overall child selection process, including timeframe, materials and documentation.
• Integrate sponsorship requirements with the development process so that Registered Children benefit and participate.
• Ensure Child Monitoring Standards are met.
• Make sure sponsor communications contribute to children's life skills and development assets.
• Prepare Annual Sponsorship Budgets and Annual Business Plans.

Required profile

• Three years of experience in an INGO, NGO, World Vision sponsorship operations or similar agency.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Social Science or a related field.
• Understanding of the humanitarian industry.
• Demonstrated collaboration skills.
• Willingness to be flexible with hours when necessary and to travel often to the field.
• Only local applicants accepted.

Required skills

• Proficiency in English and Sinhala.
