Service Manager - Housekeeping

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Service Manager – Housekeeping to lead the housekeeping department of Shangri‑La Hotel Colombo. The role combines operational oversight with team leadership to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort and guest satisfaction across all guest rooms and public areas.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, allocate and supervise daily activities of the housekeeping team, creating work schedules and operational plans.
• Maintain smooth day‑to‑day operations of the department, ensuring rooms and public spaces are clean, well‑presented and fully stocked.
• Conduct regular inspections and quality audits to uphold Shangri‑La standards, safety and guest satisfaction.
• Manage inventory of room amenities and supplies, guaranteeing timely replenishment.
• Coach, motivate and develop a high‑performing team through performance management and continuous training.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and service quality.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years in a comparable managerial role or at least 3 years as a housekeeping supervisor in a reputable hotel.
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, guest‑room management, service standards and quality assurance.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and the local language.
• Guest‑focused, proactive, flexible to work varied shifts.
• High professionalism, integrity and work ethic.
