Service Manager – Culinary (Assistant Pastry Chef)

About the role

We are looking for a Service Manager – Culinary (Assistant Pastry Chef) to support the Pastry Chef at our luxury beachfront resort. You will help oversee daily pastry and bakery operations, ensuring high quality, creativity, and consistency while upholding food safety and hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Pastry Chef in managing daily pastry and bakery production.
• Prepare and supervise pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, chocolates and other bakery items to meet brand standards.
• Develop new desserts, seasonal menus, buffet selections and special promotions.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, inventory, wastage and cost.
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene and sanitation regulations.
• Lead, coach and train the pastry and bakery team to maintain high performance.
• Coordinate pastry production for restaurants, banquets, events and special guest requests.
• Maintain guest satisfaction, colleague engagement and continuous operational improvement.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in pastry and bakery within a 5‑star international hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
• Previous supervisory or similar leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of pastry, bakery, desserts, cakes, chocolate work and decorative techniques.
• Good understanding of buffet presentation, plated desserts and high‑volume banquet production.
• Creative mindset with a passion for innovative dessert concepts.
