Audit & Compliance Specialist – Real Estate (Australia)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit & Compliance Specialist to support an Australian real‑estate client. The role involves independently managing audit and compliance activities, reviewing financial records and ensuring adherence to Australian legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct audit and compliance reviews of financial records, transactions, internal controls and trust account activities.
• Identify discrepancies, control weaknesses and compliance gaps, and prepare detailed working papers and reports.
• Research Australian legislation and regulatory guidance, maintain up‑to‑date records of changes, and advise internal stakeholders.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to the Brisbane‑based client, coordinate documentation requests and follow‑up on action items.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or related field.
• 2–3 years of professional experience in audit, compliance or accounting, preferably in a reputable firm.
• Strong analytical, investigative and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other MS Office applications.
