Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack, React, Node.js, AWS)

About the role

IGT1, an offshore technology and talent solutions company based in Port City Colombo and a subsidiary of IGT I Holdings, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its client WorkWave, a field service management SaaS provider. You will work embedded within the client's team on enterprise-level initiatives, designing, developing and delivering scalable software features across the full stack, including APIs, user interfaces and backend services.

Key responsibilities

• Independently design, develop and deliver new features and solutions based on product requirements.
• Build and maintain scalable APIs, client interfaces and backend services.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, improving application quality and maintainability.
• Use AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, Gemini, Rovo) to draft boilerplate, refactor legacy systems, generate tests and troubleshoot bugs, ensuring generated code meets enterprise security and performance standards.
• Work with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and automation to ensure smooth deployments.
• Partner with Product Managers, designers, QA engineers and other stakeholders to validate requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance, and promote automated testing, observability and secure software development.
• Identify technical debt and propose improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-6 years of professional software engineering experience, with proven expertise in modern web applications.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale enterprise software in an agile environment.
• Experience using advanced AI coding agents in a professional setting.
• Excellent communication skills with global teams.

Required skills

• Frontend: React (16-18) and modern JavaScript/TypeScript, including state management, routing and component-driven UI.
• Backend: Node.js and TypeScript.
• Cloud: AWS Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway and related services.
• CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring and DevOps best practices.
