Quantity Surveyor – Real Estate & Construction

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our real estate and construction team in Pannipitiya. The role involves managing cost assessments, verifying bills of quantities, and supporting financial reporting for ongoing projects.

Key responsibilities

• Validate and verify BOQs against project drawings and specifications.
• Perform quantity take‑offs, measurements, valuations, and cost assessments.
• Verify contractor claims, variations, interim payments, and subcontractor/supplier invoices.
• Monitor project costs and assist with budgetary control.
• Manage material and supply control to minimise waste and shortages.
• Evaluate quotations and supplier proposals.
• Conduct regular site visits to confirm work progress and quantities.
• Liaise with site engineers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, contracts, payments, and measurements.
• Prepare periodic reports on project costs, valuations, and procurement activities.
• Support the Finance Director with cost analysis and financial reporting.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognised institution.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
• Good knowledge of BOQ preparation, measurement principles, and cost management.
• Experience in contractor billing and payment verification is an advantage.
• Understanding of construction materials and procurement processes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Strong analytical, communication, and coordination abilities.

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
