Part-time IT Lecturer (Software Engineering, Data Science, AI)

About the role

The institution is seeking a part‑time Lecturer in Information Technology to deliver high‑quality, on‑site teaching for top‑up students on weekends at the BCAS Campus in Jaffna. The role focuses on fostering practical and theoretical knowledge across software engineering, data science and artificial intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and conduct lectures, tutorials and practical sessions aligned with the curriculum.
• Design lesson plans, create assignments and examinations, and evaluate student performance.
• Provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate academic records.
• Mentor students and support their academic development.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative staff to continuously improve course materials.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualification in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related field (Bachelor’s required; Master’s or professional certifications advantageous).
• Demonstrated ability to teach, train and engage diverse learners.
• Practical experience in AI, Data Science and Software Development, with familiarity in programming languages and development methodologies.
• Strong communication, presentation and classroom‑management skills.
• Team‑oriented mindset and ability to work collaboratively with staff.
