Operations Assistant

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position supports the smooth operation of a fruit and tea processing facility in Wattala. The Operations Assistant ensures that incoming raw materials and packaging meet quality standards and that final products are ready for shipment.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and verify incoming fruits, tea leaves, and packaging materials for maturity, size, defects, freshness, moisture levels and contamination.
• Assist in operational procedures and coordinate with team members to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Inspect final packed fruit cartons/crates and tea packages before shipment.
• Maintain detailed quality‑control logs, sampling records and non‑conformance reports.
• Prepare daily operational records and support documentation.

Required profile

• Passionate, practical and hardworking attitude.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle peak‑season demands.
• Experience or familiarity with export environments, tea factories or processing centres is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Computer literacy with basic knowledge of the MS Office suite.
• Experience in FMCG or the tea sector is a plus.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
