General Manager

About the role

The Cliff Weligama is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the venue through its next growth phase. This senior role oversees the entire business unit, taking full accountability for guest experience, people, operations, commercial performance, and the P&L.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clear direction, set expectations, and foster a culture of accountability, growth, teamwork, and genuine hospitality.
• Own the complete guest journey, ensuring exceptional service, atmosphere, and continuous improvement based on feedback.
• Manage the venue’s P&L, budgets, forecasts, and KPIs, driving revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
• Oversee day‑to‑day performance of Kitchen, Bar, Guest Experience, and Venue Operations, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
• Protect and strengthen The Cliff brand through daily execution, events, partnerships, and community engagement.

Required profile

• Minimum five years in a senior hospitality leadership role.
• Strong background in restaurants, boutique hotels, lifestyle venues, resorts, beach clubs, or members’ clubs.
• Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams.
• Solid operational and financial management experience, including budgets, forecasts, KPIs, labour and cost controls.
• Excellent communication, decision‑making, and relationship‑building skills.
