Foreman – Workshop Operations Supervisor

About the role

The Foreman will lead the day‑to‑day operations of Kia Sri Lanka’s workshop in Kurunegala, ensuring that vehicle maintenance and repairs are carried out safely, efficiently and to manufacturer standards. Reporting to service management, the role combines hands‑on supervision with coordination of technical staff to deliver reliable service outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise workshop activities, assign tasks and monitor performance of technicians.
• Oversee the use and maintenance of heavy equipment and automotive tools.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and housekeeping standards.
• Collaborate with service advisors and management to plan workloads and timelines.
• Maintain accurate service records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train, mentor and develop workshop personnel.

Required profile

• Proven supervisory experience in a technical or workshop environment.
• Hands‑on background with heavy equipment, automotive tools and routine servicing.
• Experience as a Foreman or senior technician in an automotive workshop or related field.
• Relevant vocational qualification in automotive engineering, mechanical technology or a similar discipline.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality standards and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work on‑site in Kurunegala.
