Engineering Manager – Hotel Facilities

About the role

The Engineering Manager will lead the Engineering & Maintenance team at Kandy Myst, ensuring all hotel facilities, plants, equipment and machinery operate smoothly and efficiently. This role combines technical oversight with strategic energy and cost optimisation in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all engineering and maintenance operations across the property.
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for HVAC, DG sets, water treatment, fire safety and other critical systems.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, emergency and security standards, including regular inspections of fire alarms, CCTV, plant rooms and workshops.
• Develop, train and mentor the engineering team, promoting safety practices and service excellence.
• Oversee engineering resources, inventory, suppliers and AMC contracts, maintaining adequate tool and material stocks.
• Analyse utility consumption and maintenance data to drive energy conservation, cost optimisation and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hotel engineering or facilities management experience, with supervisory or managerial responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, DG sets, water treatment, fire & life safety, and electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Proven experience in preventive maintenance, energy management and cost control.
• Good understanding of occupational health & safety, local regulations and hotel engineering standards.
• Excellent leadership, problem‑solving and communication skills.
