Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services

About the role

Lvra Global is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer specialized in building services to join its Colombo office. You will be responsible for designing power distribution, lighting, and related infrastructure for a variety of projects while ensuring compliance with local and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Perform load calculations and design power distribution networks for residential, commercial and mixed‑use developments.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers and contractors to integrate electrical systems into overall building designs.
• Review and comment on contractor submissions, conduct site visits and assess existing installations.
• Support project planning, commissioning and hand‑over, ensuring safety, reliability and energy efficiency.
• Prepare design and authority submission packages in line with UAE, IEC and NFPA regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–8 years of experience in electrical design for building services or MEP projects.
• Familiarity with residential towers, villas, commercial buildings or mixed‑use developments is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit MEP.
• Knowledge of DIALux/DIALux Evo for lighting design.
• Use of ETAP or equivalent power analysis software.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
