Cost Accountant

About the role

A leading luxury furniture and interior design company with a 52-year reputation is expanding and looking for a dynamic Cost Accountant / Cost Executive. The company's group is growing and diversifying, and the role contributes to its continued growth. The position is full-time and on-site in Colombo.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse cost estimates for furniture manufacturing and interior design projects.
• Support management with costing reports, variance analysis and profitability insights.
• Monitor and control project costs against approved budgets.
• Work with design, production and project teams to ensure cost efficiency.
• Assist with pricing strategies and the preparation of Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Identify and recommend process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Prepare detailed cost requirements for projects, including raw materials, labour and other costs, to support project budgets.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in costing, preferably in furniture manufacturing or a related manufacturing environment.
• Fully or part-qualified in Costing / Management Accounting, such as CIMA, ACCA, CA or an equivalent.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and a proactive approach to cost efficiencies.
